7070 at South Dakota State Fair
7070 at North American International Livestock Exposition
7070 is the measuring stick as far as I am concerned upon which I gage all my other ewes in the ewe flock. She is truly dazzling and in her first time out she was awarded Champion Oxford Ewe at the South Dakota State Fair in 2007.
We decided that she was good enough to stand some competition at the highest level, so we sent her to Louisville. She stood twelfth as a late Spring ewe lamb in the largest class of the day. She was very youthful and didn't have quite the "conditioning" on her that some near the top had. Many people said she was easily top five.
Watch for her as a yearling. She is set to lamb in Spring, but we feel this will not hinder her growth. She is sure to grow into a beautiful yearling.

We didn't do too bad for our first year in Oxfords. My Oxford ewe lambs stood side by side in the late class and they looked phenomenal. I would like to thank Double "O" Acres and Mary & Irwin Jackson for their assistance in getting the sheep ready for NAILE. I would also like to thank Jim Everett and Jim Driscoll for their help showing my ewe lambs. As you can see by the smiles on our faces, we all enjoyed ourselves.

The 2008 South Dakota Champion Oxford Ram. Based on this rams pedigree it is easy to see why he has so much front end extension. Both his sire and his grandsire are 43" tall rams. This ram is a sure stud prospect and will grow into a huge sheep.

This deep bodied January ewe lamb is the type of ewe I am centering my young ewe flock around. She is sure to make a great brood ewe. She was Champion Oxford ewe at the South Dakota State Fair and Brown County in 2008. I am happy that within my first year in Oxfords that I was able to produce ewes of this caliber.
